Almost every child drew something as a gift for their mother. Often, the feelings we couldn’t express in words as children, we conveyed through our creativity. I wanted to create a series of paintings referencing children’s drawings, with vases as vessels for those feelings, and flowers in a simple, naive style, like a child’s emotions that grow and reach for the light, asking to be expressed. Many of those childhood feelings never turned into words, but they remain forever in our memories, captured in our childhood drawings.
